What the figures are based on
For the federal amount we use two things: the Clean Energy Regulator's STC factor table, as published, and the Cheaper Home Batteries Program size tiers. Each state's own scheme page is the source for the state amounts. For prices after the rebate, we show the typical installed ranges that CHOICE publishes.
Whenever a rule changes, we update the calculator and every page that mentions it. Every state page links to its official source, which means you can check it yourself.
How this site is paid for
How to use the calculator costs nothing. Ask for quotes and we send your request to accredited installers who serve your postcode. Those installers pay us for the introduction. Your rebate is never affected by that: the government sets the amount, not us and not the installer.
