How to use the calculator
Based on the published rules, the calculator produces an estimate. Your final rebate equals the certificates your installer creates for your battery, each one valued at whatever price they receive, and the state's own scheme decides any state amount. Before you sign, check the numbers on your written quote.
The Cheaper Home Batteries Program, the state schemes and the Clean Energy Regulator are mentioned so you can look them up. They don't endorse this site, and we aren't part of them. Solar Accreditation Australia handles installer accreditation, and the Clean Energy Council keeps the list of approved batteries.
What we collect in the quote form
Asking for quotes means we collect the page you sent the form from, whether you have solar, the battery size you entered, your postcode, mobile number, email and name. The sole use is sending your request to accredited installers covering your postcode, no more than three, so they can reach you about your quote.
Nothing else is done with the calculator's inputs. Your browser keeps them so the calculator remembers your entries next time; clear this site's data there to wipe them.
Who gets to see your details
- The installers that receive your request. Your details are handled by each one under its own privacy policy.
- The providers that host our site and handle our email, storing data on our behalf. Some of these providers keep data in places other than Australia, the United States among them.
We do not sell your details, and marketing email is only sent if you ask for it.
Consent to email and SMS
When you send the form, you agree that the installers receiving it may contact you about your quote by email or phone. As the Spam Act 2003 requires, every marketing message must identify its sender and offer an unsubscribe option.
How to see or correct your details
The Privacy Act 1988 gives you the right to ask what we hold about you, and to ask for corrections or deletion. Send an email to [email protected]. Not happy with our answer? The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner takes complaints.
